Dr. Sami Ulus Kadın Doğum, Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi 1Pediatri Uzmanı, 2Pediatri Doçenti Thrombotic events are seen more frequently in newborns compared with children and adults. An immature hemolytic system increases the risk of thrombosis in newborns. In parallel to developments in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), invasive vascular procedures have become more and more common in newborns. Increased vascular interventions in newborns have also increased the risk of venous and arterial thrombosis, although neonatal arterial thrombosis is seen rarely when compared with venous thrombosis. However, neonatal arterial thrombosis has a higher mortality and morbidity. A wait-and-see approach (expectant management), anticoagulants, thrombolytics, and surgical approaches can be used in the treatment of neonatal arterial thrombosis. Today, there is no gold standard treatment approach or widely accepted treatment algorithms for neonatal arterial thrombosis. In this review, the incidence, etiology, clinical presentation, and treatment approaches in neonatal arterial thrombosis are summarized. Anahtar Kelimeler : tromboz, arteriyel tromboz, neonatal arteriyel tromboz, yenidoğan.
