Knowledge of mothers regarding infant care and feeding

A total of 107 mothers, aged between 19-49 years, who delivered in Hacettepe University Hospital between December 2010 and March 2011 were included in the study. A questionnaire was applied including sociodemographic characteristics and the knowledge of mothers regarding infant care and feeding issues. There were no significant differences in the scores of infant care, infant nutrition, hygiene, and overall scores with respect to the mothers’ ages, number of children and working status. The scores in all areas were observed to increase in conjunction with an increase in the mothers’ educational level. Similar to previous studies from our country, mothers were found to have insufficient knowledge about infant care and nutrition. Anahtar Kelimeler : anne, bebek bakımı, bebek beslenmesi.
