Spinal cord metastasis of endodermal sinus tumors: a case report. Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları dergisi 2005; 48: 175-178.

Endodermal sinus tumor (EST), is a rare tumor in childhood and young adults, is a malignant germ cell tumor which rarely metastasizes to the spinal cord, the mass effect of the metastasis may not always be seen. EST is seen generally in sacrococcygeal region. We present a case with EST and spinal cord metastasis because of its rare appearance. In this article we report, a three year-old female child admitted to our clinic with complaints of constipation, vomiting, hematochezia, and fever of one month’s duration. An investigation in another clinic revealed a mass in the presacral region. The biopsy specimen had revealed an EST, and after biopsy weakness in lower extremities appeared. During of further investigation, spinal cord metastasis was detected.
