The medical terms used in the national media in the COVID-19 pandemic

SARS-CoV-2 virus infection (COVID-19) was observed in China in the last months of 2019. In the following period, this infection spread all over the world. In March 2020, the World Health Organization announced the existence of a pandemic. Due to the pandemic, medical information about COVID-19 has started in all aspects of the printed and visual media in our country as well as in the world. Thus, many medical words that were not Turkish were brought to the agenda in our daily life due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. In this article, we aimed to review the original spelling, meaning and suggested Turkish equivalents of the medical terms we use due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
